How to Choose a Primary Care Doctor in Huntington Beach

    June 30, 20265 min read

Choosing a primary care doctor is one of the most important healthcare decisions you'll make — this is the person who will know your history, coordinate your specialists, and be your first call when something feels off. Here's what to look for.

    1. Check your insurance network first

Before anything else, confirm the doctor accepts your plan. If you're with Regal Medical Group or ADOC, Coral Med is in-network for medical primary care. Not sure about your plan? Call the office — we'll help you check.

    2. Look at board certification and training

Board certification means a physician has completed rigorous training and ongoing education in their specialty. Dr. Ameer Moussa is board-certified in Internal Medicine with additional certification in Sleep Medicine, and trained at Long Island College Hospital, UCLA Olive View, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

    3. Consider language and communication style

You should be able to describe symptoms and understand your care plan in the language you're most comfortable with. Our office serves patients in English, Arabic, and Spanish.

Finally, trust your gut after the first visit. A good primary care doctor listens, explains without jargon, and never makes you feel rushed. That's the standard we hold ourselves to at Coral Med — schedule a visit and see for yourself.
